Nancy Sue Carter, 68, of Xenia, passed away August 20, 2017. Nancy was born in Jamestown, Ohio, in 1949, to James and Patricia Wilson.
Nancy loved family pursuits most of all, from following and attending her grandchildren's activities to planning and hosting family get-togethers. Nancy loved to travel. She spent many sunny days in Hawaii, and two of her favorite past destinations were Alaska and Sicily. She loved the simple beauty of horses, birds, and nature.
Nancy was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 17 years, William T. Carter, and by her father, James R. Wilson.
She will be dearly missed by her mother Patricia Wilson; her daughters, Jennifer Edwards and Lorna Wood (Anthony); her son, Colonel Douglas Edwards (Valerie); her six loving grandchildren, Maya, Zain, Ella, Everett, Kai, and Owen; her siblings Larry Wilson, Terry Wilson, Barry Wilson, and Peggy Wilson; and William's six children and their families. Nancy is also survived by her two best friends, Dottie Martyr and Sharon Adams, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from 4 - 6pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 6pm. Donations can be made, if preferred, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
