Nancy Jane Browne, age 85 of Xenia, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Xenia Health & Rehab. She was born January 29, 1939 in Midland, Ohio, the daughter of Glenn and Gladys Walker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Browne, whom she married in July, 1963. They celebrated their 50th anniversary shortly before Richard's passing. Her son, Todd Browne, also preceded her in death.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Amy (Jeffrey) Wright, and granddaughter, Natalie Wright. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1957 and worked at the Wilmington Library while attending Wilmington College, where she earned a Bachelor's in Education in 1963. She taught in both Reynoldsburg and Xenia City Schools for many years. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Xenia for over 40 years and volunteered at Greene Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. She also taught at Tuesday School at First Church for a number of years. She was an avid reader and an accomplished seamstress. She loved her Lord and her family and doted on her only granddaughter.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to follow at First Church of Christ (441 Ledbetter Road, Xenia, Ohio 45385). Nancy will be laid to rest at Westboro Cemetery following the service.
