Nancy Rae Heitzman Brown, 79, of Franklin, passed away March 18, 2017. Nancy was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 12, 1938 to the late Leroy and Merle Walters. Nancy retired from Grandview Hospital after 15 years of service. She also worked at NCR for years prior to the relocation. As a child and as a young adult she was a member of Walnut Grove Country Club where she won many golf tournaments as well as the Dayton City Open 1st runner up in 1954. She attended the Vineyard Church in Franklin. She was a member of Curves in Germantown for many years. In her free time she enjoyed reading, needlepoint, watching sports and spending time with her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother; Dennis Walters.
She is survived by her daughters, Judi (James) Hummel, Ronda (Donald) Yates; son, Ronald (Carol)Heitzman; 6 grandchildren, Michele Short, Gary (Shannon) Hardy, Duane Short, Jennifer Brunner, Susan Howard, Christy Heitzman; great grandchildren, Alexandria, Kirsten, Lacie, Kylie, Adriana, Jordan, Ashlynn, Haylie, Tyler, Kayley, Gavin, Kaleb, Hannah, Levi, Kersty, Sophia, Kendyl; special friends, Georgianna Souders, Novel and Sheryl Smith; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, where funeral services will begin at 6pm with Pastor Chuck Wolfenbarger officiating.
