Nancy L. Behr

Nancy L. Behr, born on September 17, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, left this world on December 20, 2024, after bravely fighting a year-long battle with health issues. Her spirit, characterized by kindness, patience, unwavering strength and an ever-loving nature, touched the lives of many throughout her journey. Known for treating everyone as family, Nancy created bonds that will endure long beyond her time.

A woman of many accomplishments, Nancy dedicated over 30 years of her life as an administrative manager at Sheet Metal Workers, demonstrating her unwavering commitment and strong work ethic. Proudly, she graduated from St. Joseph Commercial High School, Class of '67, and became a cherished member of her community, particularly as a devoted member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over 20 years.

In her personal life, Nancy found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially her husband of 29 years, Danny Behr. Together they built a life filled with laughter and warmth. Nancy cherished her role as a mother to her son, Andrew Grogean, and took great pride in her stepchildren: Derek Behr (Kim), Darci Behr (Danny), and Andrea Behr (Brad). She was blessed with nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, pouring her heart into every moment spent with them, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life—such as walks on the beach and family gatherings.

Nancy was not only a loving wife and devoted mother, but also a sister to Ray Engleman (Marilyn) and Robert Engleman. Her special niece, Gina Engleman, along with her life-long friend, Cindy Whitaker, and close friends, Jenny Jackson and Cindy Seitz, held a significant place in her heart, as did many others, including nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who were graced by her presence.

Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Louvina Engleman, as well as her brother, Jack Engleman, and sister-in-law, Karen Engleman. Each of them will forever be remembered in the loving memories she shared with her family and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to gather in Nancy’s honor on January 10, 2025, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00pm at Newcomer North Chapel, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. This is an opportunity for all who loved her to come together, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful life of a remarkable woman who will be deeply missed.
