Nancy Lee Alger

Alger, Nancy Lee(Shoemaker)aged 83, passed away Monday, September 16th 2024 due to illness including dementia.

Nancy was a 1959 graduate of West Carrollton High School, played clarinet in both their band and the NCR Old River band. She loved tinkering in the garden and was an avid reader.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Vada & Grover Shoemaker, husband Earl Kent Alger, sister Jane Wright and daughter Melissa Alger-Yakura.

She is survived by her daughter Susan (Sue) Alger, brother Richard Shoemaker & his wife Mary, brother John Shoemaker, sister-in-law Jeanne Murray & her husband Ken, son-in-law Jay Yakura & grandsons James and Ben Yakura. Nancy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3077 Far Hills Ave. #117, Dayton, OH 45459.  

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Centerville (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459).
