Myron Dale Runyon, age 84, a longtime Dayton resident, passed away September 27, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Myron was born September 26, 1931 in Galia, Ohio to Abner Runyan and Mary Fulks. He was employed with the Royal Crest Dairy. Myron was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the First Calvary Division, Korea. The most important part of Myron's life was his family. He cherished the time he was able to spend with all of them.
In addition to his parents, Myron was also preceded in death by his siblings, Larry, Alice, Bonnie and stepfather, George Brumfield.
He is survived by his son, Jim Runyon of Dayton, daughter, Susan Proffitt of Somerset, KY, grandchildren, Laura (Dana) Kelly, Brian (Stephanie)Runyon, Andrea (Jeff) Reed, Amanda Proffitt, Matthew Proffitt, 9 great grandchildren, brother, James Brumfield, brother-in-law, Earl Goad, sister, Betty Cheetem, sister-in-law, JoAnn Runyan, former wife, Pauline Leggett, and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 11:30 - 12:45 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. (937-235-1000). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 12:45 pm. at the funeral home, followed by Military Honors and burial at Dayton National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
