Scott, Myron C. "Scotty", age 97, of Miami Township, passed away at his home on June 3, 2010. He was born along with a twin brother, Marion, on September 3, 1912 to John Howard and Lula Mae (Flaugher) Scott in Ellsberry, Ohio. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers: Floyd, Dudley, Russell, Marion and John H., and his only sister: Ruby Fisher. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years: Ruth (Grimes) Scott; sons: Kevin (Ava) and Daryl both of Miami Township; daughter: Lori (Chris) Ingram of Cape Coral, FL; grandsons: Ryan Ingram, Aaron Caudill, Jason, Dan, Derek, Myles and Kasey Scott; granddaughter: Chelsie Ingram (Colt). Myron was employed at Frigidaire and Harrison Radiator divisions of General Motors for over 32 ½ years, retiring in 1978. He served with the United States Navy in the Pacific during WWII as a quartermaster and gunner first on the Destroyer USS Worden DD352 until she sank during a storm on January 13, 1943 in the Aleutian Islands and then on the USS Murray DD576 until the war's end. He earned 15 major battle ribbons including the Battle of Midway, Guadal Canal, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Siapan, Tarawa, Guam and others. He enjoyed working in his yard and flower gardens and fished for many years with Ruth and friends in Alabama, Michigan, Canada, Indiana, and here in Ohio, especially at Rocky Fork Lake for crappie and channel catfish. As he requested, there will be no services. Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) Kettering is serving the family. Friends may call or see Ruth at home.
