Myron Harrison Bailey

March 1, 1927 — October 18, 2017

Myron Harrison Bailey was born on March 1, 1927, in Streetsboro, Ohio, and was welcomed by Jesus into rest on October 18, 2017. He is preceded in earthly death by his beloved wife, Eloise Bailey, his daughter, Deborah Ruth, his parents and his two sisters.
He was the youngest child and the only son to Walter Frederick Bailey and Addie Higginbotham Bailey, and only brother to sisters Edna May Taylor and Olive Overholt. He attended Streetsboro High School in Streetsboro, Ohio, and graduated from high school in 1945. Myron grew up on a farm in northeastern Ohio. At a young age, he invited Jesus into his heart to be his Savior and Lord, and served the Lord throughout his many years on this earth. He served his country in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged at 21 years of age. He married Gladys Irene Carder on December 26, 1948. They had six children: Ronald Myron Bailey, Deanna Joy Bailey, Gerald Douglas Bailey (Debra), Deborah Ruth Bailey, Brad Walter Bailey, and Barbara Anne Swee (Mark). They also have enjoyed many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He worked full time to support a young family while attending college, graduating from Kent State University in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Subsequently, Myron went to work for Wright-Patterson AFB in Fairborn, Ohio. He enjoyed a long and successful tenure there, ultimately being promoted to the position of Chief Price Negotiator. During that time, he married Eloise Gordon on June 1, 1972. Myron was stepfather to Kathy Lynn Murrell (Alan), Joyce Ann Gordon, and Larry Gordon. Myron and Eloise were married for 41 years, until she went home to be with Jesus. Myron retired from Wright-Patterson AFB in 1987. In retirement, he remained active with many interests. He was a longtime member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Dayton, Ohio, and participated in several mission trips both at home and abroad to help bless others. He loved to sing and play music his whole life, and especially loved singing gospel music. He loved to tell jokes and make people smile wherever he went. He was a resident of Desert Shadows retirement park in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was involved with its Christian fellowship and choir.
Myron loved his family. He would light up to talk about his kids and grand kids; and he also enjoyed his nieces and nephews, and was especially close to his great nieces Joyce Weaver and Dawna Sano. Following recent health struggles, he met Jesus face to face, and has received his complete victory!
