Monroe C. Winning, age 84 of Kettering, passed away on June 10, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on July 3, 1931 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to the late Charles and Mary Winning. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betty Lou Winning and brother, Donald Winning. Monroe is survived by his loving children, Anita (Roger) Osterfeld, Mike (Sherry) Winning, Adriene (David) Todd; eight grandchildren, Kelley Osterfeld (Nate Koch), Ryan (Ashley) Osterfeld, Zachary (Danielle) Winning, Kyle (Maria) Winning, Caitlin (Nathan) Burns, Cody Winning, Cameron Winning, Garrett Conner, Colton Conner; three step-grandchildren, Kevin, Emily and Bailey Todd; as well as 10 great-grandchildren. Monroe served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was also a member of VFW Post 9927 and American Legion Post 598. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Church of the Ascension, 2001 Woodman Dr., Dayton, OH 45420. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
