Harrod, Mona Lisa (Owens)
Age 73, of Dayton, formerly of Pippa Passes, Kentucky, affectionately known as "Blossom" to her family and Momma Mona to her entrusted friends left to go home on January 4th 2007 after a short battle with cancer. She was a beloved teacher of children and adults, who retired after 45 years of teaching at Alice Lloyd College, Jefferson Primary and Eastmont Elementary. After receiving her master's degree from Wright State University she put a lot of hard work and 28 years into completing both sides of her family genealogy. One of her happiest moments came after the 1st printing of her 2nd family history book. She poured her heart and soul into everything she did and was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, friend, teacher, author, neighbor and friend of Bill W. Mona was blessed with a kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and a loyal devotion to family and friends. She leaves behind 3 children; Mike Harrod, Vicki Pauer, and Lisa Bryan along with 5 grandchildren; Sherree, Ryan and Brandon Spence, Chris Pauer, Sharista Houston, Tera Winchek, Caleb Sanders and James Harrod; 1 great grandson, Taiban Houston; Brothers CB Smith and Eugene Owens; Sister, Velma Lovins; "adopted" children Cliff Corning, and Lisa Knipfer and a host of beloved nieces and nephews and countless friends.
