Minnie P. West

Minnie P. West, age 94 of Kettering, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021. She was born December 26, 1926 in Portersburg, Kentucky to the late Reuben B. and Dora Proffitt.

Left to cherish Minnie's memory are her children: Brenda (Nelson) Wilson, Ron (Linda) West, Carol Reidenbach, John West, Nancy (Joe) Backus, and Sandra Hunter; grandchildren: Gary Wilson, Angela Aschenbrenner, Ja'Nice Long, Brittney Kitts, Brandi Reidenbach, Telia Backus, Carter Backus, Haylee Backus, Shauni Backus, Tony Hunter, Jason Hunter, and Austin Marlowe; 25 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

Minnie was a warm, caring, and giving person; always willing to serve others. She was a gardener extraordinaire. She loved home crafts, such as crocheting and canning, and working the daily newspaper puzzles. Minnie was always a vibrant, active person with her hobbies. She taught her family to love one another and others. She also gave her children a sense of determination, and shared her quiet, inner strength.

In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Rolly G. West; and her siblings: Charlie, Leonard, Nora, Chester, Cora, Virgil, Bertha, Elsie, and Nancy.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 26, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 1:00 pm.
