Sonny Crowden
Age 60, of Gratis, Ohio passed away Monday, October 2, 2006, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born October 3, 1945 in Sheffield, Alabama to Millard Fillmore (Sr.) & Opal Lorraine (Barfield) Crowden.
Sonny is survived by two daughters, Angela (& husband, Richard) Burton of Union, Ohio and Tia Crowden of Mansfield, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Justin, Jason, Shai, Wolf, Dakota, Bailey, Rain, David, and Paige; one sister, Phyllis Lorraine Crowden-Richards (& husband, Cougar Richards) of Rogersville, Alabama; two nephews, David & Scott Burgert; and by one great niece, Brittney Burgert.
Sonny was a well known Drummer and for several years was ranked as the #1 Drummer in the State of Ohio. He was also an Ironworker and a member of Ironworkers Local # 290 of Dayton. From 1963-65, Sonny served his country in the U. S. Navy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday. Interment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, Alabama.
