Mildred Jane Lopez

Mildred Jane (Oller) Lopez, age 85, of Union City, Ohio, passed away on June 16, 2023.

Millie was the beloved wife of James A. Lopez; loving mother to Rev. Kevin (Colleen) Parviz, Bethany (Jeff) Haun, Sharise (Michael) Miyabara-McCaskey, the late Kristopher (Claudia) Lawson, and step mother to Scott Lopez and Sean Lopez; grandmother to 13 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren; sister of the late Mark Oller, and daughter of the late Dale Oller and Bethany (Horn) Oller, and a friend to many.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Mildred graduated from Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio and graduated Magna-Cum Laude from Metropolitan State College in Denver, CO. She worked as a high school teacher, worked for the Colorado State Governor during the War on Poverty years, and was a dedicated volunteer for the Salvation Army where she operated a food bank for them at Calvary Assemblies of God in Union City, IN. She was also a Worthy Matron in the Order of the Easter Star, and loved chronicling her Horn family history as early founders of Lewisburg, Ohio.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio, with the funeral service immediately following. Mildred will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery.
