Mildred Spencer Laws, 99 was carried from this life to the next in the arms of her Lord and Savior at 4:21am on April 22, 2024. She resided at Vancrest Nursing Home in New Carlisle, OH. Born April 4, 1925, Mildred grew up in the hills of KY. She and her mother, Georgia (Boyle) Spencer, resided with Charles and Neva (Kaut) Boyle in Alcorn, near Greenup. Mildred attended Wurtland High School when Ethel Bush was Principal. She enjoyed cheer leading and loved to draw. She and her mother moved to Dayton in 1944 and made it their home. Mildred pursued her art career in fashion illustration. She attended Christian Tabernacle for many years and then the Living Word Church.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, John T. Laws and her son, Dr. Michael Hannah of Texas. She is survived by her children, Marla (Glen) Farmer of California and Michael Dean Walsh of Dayton; her daughter-in-law, Cindy Hannah of Texas and her dear friends, Pam Wise and Kevin, Sheri and Justin Johnson.
In 1981 Mildred married John T. Laws, a fine man, between them they had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom they adore. She loved to sew and do creative fancy embroidery. God has been good to Mildred, may she rest in peace in the hills where she grew up at G'Ma and G'Pa's. She is now with her heavenly father and her angel mother who went ahead of her in 1981 when she promised Mildred she would watch over her.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with the service to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, OH 45424.
Mildred's services in Ohio will be live streamed at the scheduled service time.

Funeral services will also be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Kentucky by Kevin Johnson. Burial will be in the Boyle Cemetery, Alcorn Road, Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vancrest Nursing Home Activities Department in Mildred's memory.
