Mildred Kostenko

KOSTENKO, Mildred V., age 84, of Miamisburg, passed away Sun., July 31, 2005 at Sycamore Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Michael L.; 1 son Victor Kostenko & wife Chana of Philadelphia, PA; 1 daughter Lynda Nelson & husband Harry of Greeneville, TN; 4 grandchildren Nikolas Kostenko of Philadelphia, PA, Zachary Kostenko & wife Kim of Camp LeJeune, NC, Eric Nelson & wife Rachel of Loma Linda, CA and Kristina Nelson of Chattanooga, TN; niece Rhonda Karr & family of Des Moines, IA and nephew Duane Fredregill & family of Lincoln, NE. Mildred began her career as a labor and delivery nurse at Boulder Memorial Hospital, Boulder, CO. Mildred & Michael are among the founders of Kettering Memorial Hospital where she worked as head pediatric nurse and later in the nursery and "Precious Beginnings" until her retirement in 2002. She also was a member of Kettering Seventh-Day Adventist Church where she was very active in children and youth programs. Memorial services will be held at 3 P.M., Sat., Aug. 6, 2005 at Kettering Seventh-Day Adventist Church 3939 Stonebridge Rd. Linda Farley, dear friend of the family, officiating. Private graveside services will take place Friday, Aug. 5 at Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 - 8 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Spring Valley Academy Worthy Student Endowment Fund 1461 E. Spring Valley Rd., Centerville, OH 45458 in Mildred's memory.
