Mike Ortez

Mike Ortez, age 46 of Tipp City, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at the Hospice of Miami Valley in Troy, Ohio. He was born December 2, 1973 in Cheyenne, Wyoming the son of John Ortez and Diane Burton.

Mike worked for Applied Mechanical Systems for over 15 years as a Foreman. He loved to race and work on his 1988 Mustang and enjoyed building model cars. Mike especially loved his family and adored his two grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lonnie Casey, Sr. and Henrietta "Kitty" Byrd.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Renee Ortez; two daughters, Brittany Ortez and Taylor (Austin) Myers; grandchildren, Isabella Ortez and Abel Myers; mother and step-father, Diane and Jerry Burton; father and step-mother, John and Brenda Ortez; brother, Ronnie Ortez; half-brother, Johnny (Morgan) Ortez; half-sister, Heather Ortez; aunt, Debbie (Rick) Steinway; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral service, Friday, July 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
