Nieto, Miguel G. M.D., 87, Oakwood. Born in Oaxaca, Mexico, Died peacefully at his
Residence, Saturday, May 7th, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Domitila Gomez-Nieto, and his siblings, Piedad, Lupita and Jose Luis. He is survived by his wife, Delia, daughters and sons-in law, Diana and Jerry Sanders, Oakwood, Carol and Larry Leatherman, Kettering, and Marisa and Scott Mills, Glenwood Springs, Co., sons and daughter-in-law, Mario and Sondra, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and Andre, Kettering and their mother. He is also survived by step-son Fernando Viera, Centerville, sisters Virginia Poery and Carmela Gomez-Nieto, Mexico City, grandchildren, Michelle Idell, Daniel Idell, David Idell, Gregory Mills, Michael Mills, Anna Leatherman, Allison Leatherman, step-grandsons, Peter and Angelo Viera, nieces and nephews, Virginia Poery, Alejandra Adame, Dr. Jose Miguel Gomez and Rafael Gomez, great-nieces Alejandra, Daniela and Fernanda Adame. He received his medical degree from the University of Mexico, Mexico City, completed his internship at Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA, and Mary Fletcher Hospital, Burlington, VT. and his residency at the University Hospital at the University of PA. He was chief of Anesthesiology at the V.A. Center, Dayton Ohio and the Miami Valley Hospital, he was assitant clinical professor at the Wright State University School of Medicine. He retired from medicine in 1984. He was an avid squash player and chess player. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton in his memory.

Family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 1005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Holy Angels Church, 218 K Street, Dayton.
