Michael R. Wieland

Michael Richard Wieland, age 64 of Washington Township, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was born October 21, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Barbara and the late John Wieland. He attended Centerville High School and Ohio University. Michael had a career as a carpenter for many years. He liked to learn new things and would read textbooks for fun about a number of topics, such as biology and marine biology. Michael would often start new woodworking and building projects. He really enjoyed the problem solving aspect of creating new things. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and was passionate about wildlife. He used to be an avid water and snow skier. He will be missed by those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his Brother, Terry Wieland, and Father, John Wieland.

Michael is survived by his Mother, Barbara J. Wieland; Sister, Melissa (Kent) Etter; Nieces, Cayla (Chris Simons) Etter, and Rey Etter; and by numerous other family and friends.
