Michael Scott Welch, age 48, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017. He was born November 16, 1968 in Dayton, Ohio to James and Zona (McDaniel) Welch.
Michael was a 1986 graduate of Patterson High School and was self employed and worked with his brother Jim Welch installing tile. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. Right after he graduated high school he worked for a year in Alaska for Artic Alaska Seafoods as a commercial fisherman. Michael loved to shoot pool, play cards, throw darts and hang out with his friends. He was a generous man who had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off of his back. Michael was a simple, caring and loving man who possessed a great and magnetic smile. He loved his family dearly, would do anything for any of them and will be greatly missed by all.
Michael is survived by his mother Zona; two sisters, Kathi Welch and Shawna (Celeste Hoerner) Welch; a brother, Jim Welch; a niece, Taylor (Nathan Hughes) Welch, another niece, Chelsie Cooper, three nephews, Kris (Kristina) Cooper, Brian Hoerner and Dustin (Katy) Everhart; two great nieces, Harper Hughes and Adalynn Cooper; a great nephew, Gavin Cooper; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A Memorial Service will follow at the funeral home at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions are requested to the Wildlife Association in Michael's name.
