Michael A. Stapleton

Michael A. Stapleton, age 81, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 4, 2021 surrounded by loved ones, after a short illness. He was born November 5, 1939 in Staffordsville, Kentucky to the late Harold and Rushia Stapleton and grew up in Fairborn, Ohio.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran. It was in the Army that Michael met the love of his life, Sharon, and after a three week courtship they were married for 52 years. Michael loved golf and was a professional in the 1960's. Michael retired from G.M. in 1998.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife Sharon; parents, Harold and Rushia; brothers, Don, Monroe, Wilbert, and Ronnie; sisters, Lola and Shirley.

Michael will be missed by his loving children, Shaun Stapleton and Stephen (April) Stapleton; five grandchildren, Cullen, Christopher, Shannon, Connor and Isabella; and sisters, Charlotte, Shelby and Kay. Michael will be missed by all whose lives were touched by him.

Family will receive friends Friday, July 30, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Michael's memory to Hospice of Miami County.
