Michael Allen Porter, age 50, passed away in his sleep on May 23rd, 2019 in his home. He was born April 22nd, 1969 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Michael N. and Patricia A. Porter.
Along with his parents, Michael is survived by his sons Justin Michael and Derek Allen; daughters Morgan Christine, Maryna Opal, Madison Michelle and Lilyanne Rose; five grandchildren with one on the way; his sister Kelly Lynn and her three children.
Michael Porter was much loved. He returned this love by dedicating his life to the growth of his surroundings. As a teacher, Mr. Porter cultivated the minds of the youth in his community and showed them the importance of health and fitness. As a proud horticulturist and nature lover, Mike cultivated his garden with rare and beautiful plants, including his own hybrid lilies. As a father, Dad raised six children, cultivating their hearts and minds and instilling them with a love for music, nature, and fitness.
Mike remained goofy and young at heart. He serves as a constant reminder to blare music as loud as you can, to drive with the windows down and to take life at your own pace.
Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 2nd from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at American Legion Post 707; 200 W National Rd., Englewood, Ohio 45322.
