Michael J. Cono

Cono, Michael Joseph Sr., age 83, passed away April 6, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Michael and his family lived in Vandalia for 53 years. He retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber. He was an Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #668 in Vandalia, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leona "Dottie" Cono; 2 daughters, Michaele (Jerry) Duke of Richmond, IN, a special daughter Connie Kay Cono of Mount Vernon, Ohio; 3 sons, Michael J. (Peggi) Cono, Jr. of Lilburn, GA, Thomas E. Cono of Winchester, CO, & Anthony R. Cono, Sr. of Vandalia; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Ronnie Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Tipp City, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 PM until the time of services. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
