Michael Edward Hoberty
Age 51, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at his home in Cambridge, Nebraska after a long, courageous three year battle with cancer.
He was born April 14, 1960 in Springfield, Ohio and was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hoberty and his mother, Virginia Joyce (Corwin) Hoberty. Michael was a 1979 graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School.
After graduation, Michael moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida working as a union teamster driving Euclid dump trucks.
In 1985 Michael married Nora Susan (Green) Hoberty and to this union a daughter, Jenifer was born. Michael met Mary (Druse) Hoberty and moved to Cambridge, Nebraska where they were married on June 30, 2001 and to this union, along with a step-son Cameron, a daughter Schyler and a son Benjamin were born. In 2004 Michael became self-employed, using his talents as a carpenter.
Michael is survived by wife Mary Hoberty, stepson Cameron Druse, daughter Schyler and son Benjamin Hoberty all of Cambridge, Nebraska; daughter Jenifer Kinner and husband Jon of Vandalia, Ohio; sister Terri Lynn Mescher and husband Tom of Tipp City, Ohio; brother Robert Hoberty and wife Dreama with children Stephen Barker and Robbie Hoberty of Port St. Lucie, Florida; niece Nikki Reis and husband Drew with children Donovan and Kori of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Michael is also survived by his in-laws Charles and Marcia Druse of Cambridge, Nebraska.
Family and friends will gather at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6 with a memorial service to be held at 4:00 p.m.
