Brem, Michael Edward, age 85, of Kettering, passed away on December 19, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. He was born January 30, 1923 in Toronto, Ohio to the late John & Mary (Tulencik) Brem. Michael loved and bravely served our country as a Staff Sergeant i the 9th Air Force during WWII. He was awarded numerous medals, ribbons, all four European Battle Stars and the French Medal of Freedom. Michael retired from Rikes after 42 years of service. Michael was loved by all he touched.
Michael leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years: Dorothy (Dixon) Brem; son and daughter-in-law: Chris & Margie Brem; daughter and son-in-law: Cindy & David Hamilton; four grandchildren: Stacy and husband Scott Peeler, Michael and wife Jana Brem, Molly & Lindsay Hamilton; 5 great grandchildren: Cody, Amanda & Braden Brem and Sophie & Sam Peeler. Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 115 S. Main St., Franklin, Ohio with Father James Manning Celebrant. Interment will follow Mass at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
