Michael Gene Coker, Sr. "Mike", age 62 of Kettering, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1959 in Harlan, Kentucky.
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a strong, patriotic, spiritual man who worked hard and loved his family. He loved introducing people to God and became an ordained minister. Mike enjoyed, golfing, frisbee golf, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Coker; mother, Doris Walters; sister, Sharon Williams and brother, Randy Coker.
Mike will be missed by his loving wife of 30 years, Nola; children, Heather Ann Coker, Michael Gene Coker, Jr. (Margaret Casey) and Brandy Jean Coker, Melissa Shaw, Christopher Irvin (Kim Beatty), and Gary (Jackie) Perdue; grandchildren, Mekaylah, Brandon, Heather Sky, Cameron Lee, Dillian, Anthony, Cara, Riley, Tristian, Destiny, Jasmine, Tyrus, Peyton, Mia, Isak, Katie, Karli, Lindsay, Zach, Abby, Christopher and Collin; great-grandson, Easton Kai; siblings, James (Rhonda) Conner, Robbin (Derek) Malone, Billy Coker, Nick Coker, Ellen Coker, Sonya Godsey, Phillip (Pam) Coker; step-mother, Sarah Coker; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends Friday, October 1, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia. Contributions may be made in Mike's memory to the Word of God Church, 3001 Lakehurst Ct., Moraine, Ohio 45439.
