Michael (Mike) Robert Caldwell, Sr. was born on August 27, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio. He departed this life on July 12, 2023.
Mike was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. Mike was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a hard worker and retired from the State of Ohio where he worked for over 20 years as a Plumber and then as a Corrections Officer. Mike was a kind, loving and caring man that believed in the power of prayer; he cherished his family and friends and always made sure they were well provided for. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and collecting rare coins and antiques.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, George A. Caldwell, Sr. and his mother, Minnie Caldwell; his son, Shawn Bryan Caldwell; his brothers, Charles Willis, James Caldwell, Martin Caldwell, and George A. Caldwell, Jr; his sisters, Miriam Roberta Ellis and Anna Laura Vigay; and his step-granddaughter, Amber Michele Hines.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ethelene Bryant-Caldwell; his sons, Onuche Caldwell of Dayton, Ohio and Michael Caldwell Jr. of Miami, Florida; his daughter, Regina Caldwell of Dayton, Ohio; his step-son, Jimmy Lee Bryant of Dayton, Ohio; his stepdaughters, Roberta (Patrick) Olumba of Nigeria, Africa, and Rachel Bryant of Dayton, Ohio; his sisters Fannie Derrick and Peggy Caldwell, both of Dayton, Ohio; 10 Grandchildren, 8 Step Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren and 8 Step Great-Grandchildren that dearly loved their "Paw Paw"; along with a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
MICHAEL WILL FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS AND MEMORIES
AND GOD SHALL WIPE AWAY
ALL TEARS FROM THEIR EYES;
AND THERE SHALL BE NO MORE DEATH,
NEITHER SHALL THERE BE ANY MORE PAIN:
FOR THE FORMER THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Entombment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
