Michael Edward Burton Sr.

Michael (“Mike”) Burton, Sr., age 74, of Dayton passed away Wednesday, June 5^th, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton.  He was born on January 11, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. 

Mike was preceded in death by his father and mother: Robert and Mary (Newton) Burton, sisters: Donna White and Barbara Hale, brother Robert “Bud” (Carol) Burton.

 Mike is survived by his wife of 51 years: Roberta “Bobbie” Burton, son: Michael (Angela) Burton, grandchildren: Garrett Collinsworth, Kendall and Everleigh Burton, sister: Beverly (David) Ybarra as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Mike graduated from Belmont High School in 1969. He worked for the State of Ohio at Dayton Mental Health Center for 32 years. Mike enjoyed spending time with his friends and family playing cards, coaching Michael’s baseball teams, and going on fishing and camping trips. He also enjoyed driving the school bus for Carrol High School, particularly after he was retired. One of his favorite trips was the annual trip to Camden, Ky. Mike enjoyed relaxing at home watching Western movies and shows, WWE Wrestling, Ohio State Football.  He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan and loved going to the games. 

Memorial service will be held at 4:30PM Tuesday, June 11th at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432 with Deacon Mike Montgomery officiating. Visitation will begin at 2:00PM Tuesday until the time of service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family online at www.newcomerdayton.com.
