Michael Jeremy Bergman

Bergman, Michael J., 39, of Dayton, OH passed away unexpectedly on March 6, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 24, 1980 in Dayton, OH, the son of Michael and Janice Bergman. He graduated from Kettering Fairmont High School in 1999. After high school, Mike went on to attend Sinclair Community College where he pitched for their baseball team for one year. He then decided to transfer to The Ohio State University, majoring in Biology and Horticulture. After three years at OSU, Mike decided to apply for an apprenticeship with United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters. Mike was accepted into the Dayton Local 162 Program, where he served his apprenticeship for 5 years.

He was a member of the Local 162 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union since 2006 and was most recently working as a journeyman pipefitter/welder. He enjoyed working at multiple industrial facilities throughout the Dayton area. He was dedicated to his work and loved talking about the crafts he learned from co-workers and through experience.

Mike was a good athlete and loved playing all sports, but he most excelled at the game of baseball. Mike loved to pitch and became very good at that. Over time he was fortunate to be a member of many talented baseball teams locally and regionally, where he primarily excelled as a pitcher.

He also enjoyed playing video games, Ohio State football, watching History documentaries, and spending time with family and friends. He loved spending time with his young nieces, Ella and Avery, and always looked his happiest when he was with them.

Mike is survived by his parents, Mike and Janice Bergman; his sisters, Anna Bergman and Tara (Scott) Bunker; his nieces, Ella and Avery Bunker; maternal grandmother, Marilyn Bauer; paternal grandmother, Joyce Bergman; numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Bauer and Leroy Bergman; his uncles, Thomas Bauer, Clarke Hoover and Philip Cooper.

Family will greet friends and family from 5-8PM, on March 13th, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Centerville (820 Miamisburg – Centerville Rd. Dayton, OH 45459).

Services will be held Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at 10AM at St. Helen Parish (605 Granville Place Riverside, OH 45431).
