Merry Kay (Lorton) Schreadley
Kay began a new journey in her life on March 15, 2017. She passed quietly while residing at Oak Creek Terrace. Kay was born in Union City, Indiana on July 20, 1941 to Calvin and Wanda (Wasson) Lorton. Kay graduated from Colonel White High School in 1959 and was employed by Dayton Power and Light for 35 years. Kay is survived by: her devoted mother Wanda Lorton, two sisters Carol Ann Lorton, Karen Lorton, brother Tom Lorton (Sue), daughter Debbie Smith (Bob), and son Tim Schreadley. "Gram" was also dearly loved by her three grandchildren: Chelsea Smith, Kristin Smith, and Dalton Schreadley, along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as her Aunt Norma. Kay was always an avid advocate for animal rights and the health and well-being of all children. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 9:30-10:30am with a service following at 10:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. Burial will then follow at Union City Brethren Cemetery in Union City, IN. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating, in her name, to St. Jude's or SICSA.
