Merle Leroy Thomas
Age 75, of Dayton, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Merle is survived by his wife of the past 52 years, Christine Thomas; three children, Mark & his wife, Jane Thomas, Matthew Thomas and Joy & her husband, Brandon Williams; five grandchildren, Josh, Heather, Nicki, Jeremy, and Cassie; and one great granddaughter, Grace Thomas.
Merle was a deacon and long-time member of Fairview Baptist Church. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a good husband, father, family man and a good Christian friend.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Richardson will officiate. Interment will be at the Jackson Family Cemetery in Oil Springs, Kentucky, on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions should be made in memory of Merle to Fairview Baptist Church, 6401 North Main St., Dayton, Ohio 45415.
