HUBBS, Melvin, age 69, of Kettering, Ohio, formerly of Coxton, Kentucky, passed away April 3, 2014 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steeley Monroe Hubbs and Mary Azalee (Stewart) Hubbs, as well as two sisters, Debbie Coker, Frances Slappey, and a brother, Frank Hubbs.
He is survived by his sisters, Yvonne Middleton (Mid,deceased) Huber Heights, Oh., Phyllis Hubbs-Smith (John) Dayton, Oh., Freda Bracht (Joseph) Beavercreek, Oh., and brother, Mark Hubbs (Margie), West Carrollton, Oh. He leaves behind a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Melvin was a graduate of Evarts High School in Kentucky. He served two years in the United States Army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after a lengthy career as a mail carrier. Melvin was a special and beloved brother, uncle, and friend of many. The family wants to thank his good neighbor and friend, Floyd Douglass, as well as his many friends at Dot's Market for all their kindness.
There will be a private family service and Melvin will be interred at Jack's Fork Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
