Melvin Drysdale, born 19 November 1941, entered eternal rest with the Father on November 26, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mel is retired from the USAF where he spent almost 24 years. He then became a contractor for the USAF and spent almost another 24 years doing that. Along the way he met many special friends whom he stayed in touch with. Mel enjoyed umpiring little league baseball and was Ohio's district 8 chief umpire for several years.
Mel was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Kracht, sister, Georgia Ann Robbins, and his brother, Robert Drysdale.
Mel leaves behind his beloved wife and "Sweetie Pie" of 51 years, Mary Drysdale, his daughters, Cecelia (John) Boker and Mary Drysdale, his beloved grandchildren, Jamie (Robert) Serrer, Jessica (Joe) Schwieterman, Heather (fiancée, Christian) Bryant, Amber (Josh) Anderson, and Victoria Marti, his great grandchildren, Ethan, Ashton, Caleb, Caitlynn, Noah, Parker, Landon, Gracie, Cecelia, Braelynn, and Keegan, his brother, Tom(Roberta) Drysdale, sisters, Sharon (Jim) Tripp and Sandy (Marty) Sedler, and sister-in-laws, Regina Drysdale and Eleanor (Richard) Brusky. He also leaves behind many more family and friends that were all very dear to his heart.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, December1st from 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 2nd at 10am at the Prairies Church (Chapel 3) 682 Chapel Ln in Riverside. Interment and graveside service following mass at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville, OH.
