Melvin Dickerson

October 17, 1939 — November 3, 2013

Melvin J. "Jim" Dickerson, 74, passed Nov. 3, 2013. Jim was born to the late George H. & Mary B. (Lyons) Dickerson on Oct. 17, 1939.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Albert Dickerson.

Jim leaves behind 7 children, Sandra Igo, James (Teresa) Dickerson, Brenda (Bill) Cundiff, Jerry, Steven, Robert and Patricia Dickerson, all of Dayton; 14 grandchildren, Gary Jr. (Michelle), Jonathan and Matthew Igo, Jennifer and James Dickerson Jr., Kelli (Robyn); Michael Jr. (Sarah), Ashley, David (Taylor) Smith, Amber (Chris) Ryan, Allyssa Cundiff, Kyra Dickerson, Abigail and Anthony Sherrill; nephew, Kevin Dickerson; 8 great grandchildren; numerous other family members and close friends. Special thanks to Connie Horn from Hospice of Dayton.

Jim was a devoted member of Faith Apostolic Church of Riverside, Ohio, where serving the Lord was his number one priority.

Visitation will be held 4-6 PM Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where funeral services will begin at 6 PM, Thursday, with Pastor Shawn Roades, officiating.
