Melva Kathleen "Kathy" Anderkin, age 70, of Riverside, passed away on March 15, 2022. She was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, on November 4, 1951, the daughter of the late Otis and Martha Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Billy Anderkin, Jr.; and her brother, Daniel L. Thomas, Sr.
Kathy is survived by her loving daughters, Tammy (Bill) Haines and Jenny (Mel) Meerhoff; grandchildren, Emily (Jordan) Shelburne, Erin (Corey) Riggs, Heather (Duane) Meerhoff, Elizabeth (Alex) Meerhoff and Chase (Mariah) Meerhoff; great grandchildren, Harleigh, Maesyn, Liam, Michael, Emma ("Best Friend"), Sophia, Ryley, Payton and Sebastian; dear sister-in-law, Mary Brown; special nephew, Dan (Kristina) Thomas; great nephew and great niece, Joseph and Natalie; her fur baby, "Fat Louie"; and many other loving family and friends.
Kathy had worked for many years with the Customer Service Department with Victoria's Secret. In her free time, she enjoyed playing her guitar, crocheting, listening to music and spending time with her family. Kathy had a heart of gold and was always there for those she loved. She had a very strong determination and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Dayton and requests donations be made to them in Kathy's memory.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm-4:00pm, on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where Memorial Services will begin at 4:00pm.
