Melissa Hasting Stout

Melissa Maxine Ruth Hasting Stout, age 65, of Xenia, passed away June 26, 2024. Melissa was born in Xenia, Ohio on August 28, 1958 to the late Emery and Doris Hasting.

Melissa is preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Matt Slusher; sister, Diane; brothers, Fred and Anthony-Hank; and her sister, Lori Jo.

She is survived by sons, Bryant (Lindsey) Stout and James Stout; sister, Mary Slusher; niece, Sarah; great-nieces and nephews, Abby, Savannah, Jameson and Alex; William (chosen son) Dawson, Phealyn Dawson and Pearl Dawson (grandchildren).

Melissa was a waitress all her life. Her regulars would follow her just to be served by her. Melissa was a free spirit. In her free time, she enjoyed watching true crime, listening to music and following court cases. Melissa was scary good at finding coupons and deals, she was resourceful. She enjoyed playing computer games and solitaire.

Melissa loved to go thrift store shopping with her mother, Doris. She loved her cat, Nala. Melissa loved snowmen and Raggedy Ann.

Melissa was a very strong woman, beating cancer three times in her life and was still in remission. She was everybody's mom. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-5:00pm on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 5:00pm.
