Melissa "Missy" Mounce, a radiant spirit born on February 8, 1973, in Kettering, soared into the embrace of eternity on December 20, 2024, in her beloved hometown. Missy was a beacon of joy, her bubbly personality infused with a corny sense of humor that could brighten the darkest days. Those who adored her knew she embodied a beautiful soul, brimming with love and she cared for everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

A proud alumna of West Carrollton, Missy dedicated more than 25 years to Waffle House and she later worked at Super Subby's, where her creativity and passion sparkled like holiday lights throughout the year. She cherished time spent with family and friends, crafting lasting memories through cooking and baking. Missy had an eye for the whimsical, collecting dolphins, unicorns, and crystals, with each treasure symbolizing her vibrant spirit and the magic she found in life.

As a proud breast cancer survivor, Melissa demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience. She loved fiercely, nurturing her thriving family with unwavering support and affection. She leaves behind her three cherished children: Shannon Mounce, Thomas Mounce, and Caitlyn McSherry, and three adoring grandchildren, Aubree, Jackson, and Amelia, who will carry her legacy of love forward.

Her heart belonged, in part, to Tim Justice, her significant other, and James Spencer, who stood as a father figure during pivotal moments in her life. She was also a beloved grandmother and and extended her warmth to her cousins, wrapping them in the kind of affection only she could provide.

The sorrow felt in Missy's absence is profound, as she was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Brenda Suttles; her cherished grandparents, Nina Jones and Luther "LH" Jones; her loving aunt, Shelia Latew; her uncle, Darryl Mounce; and another father figure, Ray Craft. Each loss carved a space in her heart, though she filled our lives with laughter and love, shaping a family that stands united in grief and gratitude for the time shared with this remarkable woman.

As we gather to honor her memory, we remember Melissa Mounce not just for her battles, but for her beautiful spirit—a guiding light of laughter, warmth, and love that will forever illuminate our paths, reminding us to embrace life with sass and heart until we meet again.
