McKinney, Melissa J. "Missy", 60, of West Carrollton, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2018.
She was born September 3, 1957 in Hamilton, Ohio to Vernon and Sue (Ferguson) Thomas. Missy was raised in Trenton, Ohio and attended Edgewood Schools. During school she enjoyed expressing her creativity through art courses such as pottery. Missy was a friend to all, she was loving and caring. She had a heart of gold and so many were drawn to her, she never met a stranger. Missy was a very forgiving person and prayed so often for others.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Sam and his their sons, Brandon and Devin McKinney; her beloved parents, Dr. Vernon and Sue Thomas; sisters, Alicia and husband, James Lawson, Patricia Thomas and her friend, Harvey Harris; sisters-in-law, Julie and husband, Bobby, DeeAnn and husband, Victor; 7 grandchildren; aunt Vi and uncle Jim, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved dog "Bella".
A Celebration of Missy's Life will be held from 3:00pm until 6:00pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Church of the Ascension 2709 McGee Ave., Middletown, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Dayton Childrens Hospital, or to Mr. Mo Project, 641 Grooms Rd. #235 Clifton Park, NY 12065 in Missy's name.
