With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Melinda Bullock Squibb, who departed from this world on May 22, 2024. She passed away peacefully, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on September 15, 1950, Melinda lived a life marked by her unwavering kindness, compassion, and zest for life. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit. Melinda was a matriarch like no other, whose presence lit up the room and whose laughter was contagious.
Throughout her journey, Melinda embraced life with resilience and optimism, facing challenges with grace and determination. She was known for her fierce dedication to her family, her intellectual curiosity, academic endeavors, and her love of traveling. Her thirst for knowledge and exploration inspired those around her to delve deeper into the wonders of the world.
Born in Central California, Melinda lived in Canada during college before settling back into Southern California to start her family and career. She was an ardent supporter of both the arts and educational institutions, having spent most of her career in the University of California. Melinda lived in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara before retiring in Ohio to live with her family.
Melinda's legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends, who were the center of her world. She is preceded in death by her beloved father Robert William, her cherished mother Genevieve Bullock, her sister Barbara Teague, her brother Robert Bruce Bullock, and her friend and ex-husband Michael Squibb.
She is survived by her sister Jennifer Carver, her son Daniel (Anna) Squibb, and her grandchildren Amelia and Garrett Squibb.
She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Melinda's life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, Ohio.
As we mourn the loss of Melinda Bullock Squibb, let us find solace in the memories we shared, knowing that she has found peace in the arms of eternity. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her time on Earth.
