Max E. Hillsamer

HILLSAMER, Max E., age 73, of Beavercreek, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 8, 2009. He was born September 14, 1935 in Brethern, Michigan. He retired in 1995 from WPAFB where he worked as an Aerospace Engineer. After retirement, he was a substitute teacher with the Beavercreek School System and touched many lives of staff and students. For over 30 years Max served as a church music director, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He was a big supporter of the Beavercreek sports community. For over 25 years Max coached and refereed wrestling, coached and umpired baseball and softball, and kept stats for the Beavercreek High School football team. His biggest love was watching his kids and grandkids participating in sports and extracurricular activities. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis; three children, Robin (Michael) Blinder of New Port Richey, Florida, Max "Bud" (Kim) Hillsamer, Jr. of New Carlisle, OH, and Mike Hillsamer and Jose Ramirez of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Haven, Tanner (Missy), Mitch (Taylor), Chris, Cole, Melissa, Jessica, and Amanda; one brother, Mark Hillsamer; and many special friends, including his pets Spanky and Willie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mamie (Leckrone) Hillsamer and one granddaughter, Darby. Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel and Saturday, April 11, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. at Arrowbrook Baptist Church (1124 Upper Bellbrook Rd., Xenia, OH, 45385). Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Arrowbrook Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Beaver Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Max Hillsamer Wrestling Scholarship Fund
