Max T. Brauer

May 23, 1933 — May 22, 2023

Max T. Brauer, age 89, of Belmont, passed away on May 22, 2023. He was born in Nuremberg, Germany, on May 23, 1933, the son of the late Otto Stattelman and Margarete Meindl.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Gary Brauer.

Max is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Elfriede Helene Brauer; his son, Dr. Daniel T. (Dr. Lauren Schumacher) Brauer; and his furry grandchildren, Ellie, Gretchen, Ava and Ilse.

He and his family arrived in the United States in 1957 from Germany and they all eventually became U.S. Citizens. Max retired from National Cash Register, where he was a Mechanical Engineer for over 35 years. He also received an award for his perfect work attendance, as well as many others. He was a member of the Dayton German Community for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing with his sons, being outdoors, riding his scooter and tinkering with various projects. Max was a very hard working man, who always provided for his family. He was also a great support system for his son, Dr. Brauer, especially in regards to his education and the development of his professional business, Dayton South Veterinary Clinic. He touched many lives over the years, he never met a stranger. Max will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
