Maurice D. Woodruff

WOODRUFF, Maurice D. "Woody" age 85 of Huber Heights, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Kettering Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1919 in Convoy, OH to the late Emery and Minnie Woodruff. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Belva Maxine Woodruff, his brothers Charles, Walter and Vernon Woodruff and his sisters Frieda Albright and Florence Woodward. He is survived by his son Richard Allen and wife Barbara Ellen Woodruff of New Cumberland, PA, his daughter Barbara Lynn and husband Stephen Kelly of Beavercreek; grandchildren Richard (Sharon) Woodruff, Jennifer (Matt) Steward, Matthew (Nikki) Kelly, Jaysen Kelly and Stepfanie Kelly; great grandsons Josh and Danny Woodruff, Alex Kelly and Mason Steward; sister Helen Louise Boise of Celina, OH; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Woody was a 1938 graduate of Van Wert High School. He served our country in the US Air Force during WWII, serving 20 months in the China, Burma and India Theatre. He was a former member of the Toastmasters International, the American Legion and Sulfur Grove United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, October 17, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Road, with Pastor Jack Drodge officiating.
