APPLEGATE, Maurice "Moe", age 77, passed away Friday, September 14, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Maurice Wayne. He was born on Thanksgiving day, Nov. 28, 1929 in Vanceburg, KY, but spent his entire life in Dayton. He graduated from Stivers High School in 1948. Moe served the U.S. Air Force for 4 years during the Korean War in Germany as a cryptographist. Most of his life was spent in outside sales. He owned a bar & restaurant on Linden Ave., "The Square Circle", from 1971-1973. The last 11 years of his working life were spent at the Dayton Mental Health Center, where he met his wife, Jane A. Brockman, and they were married 23 years. He leaves behind Jane; daughter & son-in-law, Connie & Mike Mitchell; daughter, Victoria Rogers; daughter & son-in-law, Carol & Jon Noren; step-son, Dan & Laura Brockman; grandchildren, Amber & Dennis Mitchell, Charlotte & Lucy Noren, Alex Jones, Trisha, Emily & Andrew Brockman, and close family friend, Vince Tondiglia. Memorial services will be held 6:30pm Friday, September 21, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering.
