Maureen A. Koehler "Nana", age 89 of Kettering, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at Oak Creek Terrace. She was born September 15, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Joseph and Sarah Kelly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Kelly and her beloved husband of 31 years, Richard "Dick" Koehler Sr. until his passing 1989.
Maureen is survived by her four children, Kris (Max) Knight, Lori Thompson, Rick (Melissa) Koehler Jr. and Mark Koehler; eight grandchildren, Megan (Joe) Whitford, Melissa (Alex) Knight, Monica (Justin) Boldman, Tyler (Sierra) Thompson, Jacob (Maddie) Thompson, Ricky Koehler, Kelly Koehler and Caitlin Koehler; four great-grandchildren, Nathan and Noah Smith and Calvin and Henry Whitford; sister, Elaine (Bob) Pino; two sister-in-laws, Linda Kelly and Judy Koehler; and two cousins, Lee (Lois) Pond and Dave (Kathy) Keister. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Maureen was devoted to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo. She was a 1952 graduate of Julianne High School and later went on to work as a dietary aid in hospitals, nursing homes and schools. Her favorite sports were Notre Dame Football, Dallas Cowboys Football, UD Flyers Basketball, Cincinnati Reds Baseball and attending her grandkids sporting events. Maureen had lots of friends and never knew stranger. She will be remembered for infectious laugh. She enjoyed swimming, singing and Broadway tunes. The most important thing to Maureen was her family, she especially loved Sunday dinners with them. Over the years Maureen travelled to Ireland with her friends. She was lovingly called Nana. Maureen will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm at the Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo, 4500 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering, OH 45429. Maureen will be laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
