Mattie Elizabeth Grant, age 81, of Dayton, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, her Savior on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.
She was born March 24, 1938 in Cromona, Kentucky to the late Nelson Ivory and Myrtle Rose (Adams) Kincer.
Mattie was a lifetime member of Way of the Cross Church with her Pastor and special friend, Pastor William Loudermilk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Troluse, D.W., Elender, and Eileen, and sons-in-law, Michael Warden and Alan Hill.
Mattie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edwin David Grant; children, Jeannie Warden, Benita Hill, Michael (Tab) Grant, Gary (Jennifer) Grant, Melissa (Eric) Haynes; grandchildren, Jennifer (Frank) Zinsius, Austin Warden, Michael Warden, Jr., Jessica (Kevin) Schindel, Melissa (Brock) Gladson, Christy (Jonathan) Schmidt, Taylor Grant, Melanie Grant, Morgan Cotter, and Chance Cotter. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Harper Schindel, Rowen Schindel, Riley Cooper, Chloe Gladson, and Colt Gladson; brothers, Jimmy Kincer, and Ben (Cynthia) Kincer; special niece, Freeda Potter, along with many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Hospice of Dayton for the wonderful care they gave to Mattie.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
