Matthew David Larger, age 53 of Huber Heights, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on December 10, 2018. Matthew was born on December 31, 1964 in Dayton. He graduated from Wayne High School in 1983. During high school, he was a member of the JROTC, which served him well with his future career in the Armed Forces. Matthew enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1985 and faithfully and honorably served his country until his retirement in 2005.
In his free time he enjoyed drawing and spending time with his dog. He enjoyed playing games with friends and fellow gamers across the country. He was a kind, caring, and compassionate man. Matthew was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Matthew leaves to cherish his memory, proud parents; mother, Linda Velte and father, David (Geraldine "Gerry" Gentry-Larger) Larger; brother, Markus (Vickie) Larger; sister, Melinda (Russ) Bohnet; loyal canine companion, Jasmine; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Newcomer North Chapel from 5pm - 8pm. Funeral service to be held the following day, Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9am at the funeral home. Burial and Military Honors to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Matthew's honor to Hospice of Dayton.
