Matowski "Bud" Sizemore, age 96 of Dayton, passed away surrounded by family on December 28, 2018. Bud was born on March 15, 1922 in Hazzard, KY. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII in the anti-aircraft division. He was stationed in the Philippines during his service. After he returned home, he married the love of his life Mabel Childers, on December 18, 1948. The two shared 70 years together.
Bud went on to work as a machine repairman for GH&R for 33 years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating in his free time. Above all, he was a devoted family man. Bud took great pride and joy in his daughter and grandsons. He had a generous nature and was always willing to help a friend or family member in need. He was a kind, caring, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Jailey Sizemore; brother, Ben "Sonny" Sizemore; and sisters, Bernice Combs and Marie Osborn.
Bud leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 70 years, Mabel Sizemore; daughter, Carole (Michael) Walker; grandsons, Matthew Walker and Joshua Walker; great-grandchildren, Hailey Walker and Gavin Walker; sisters, Thelma Young, Leona Lewis, Opal Sizemore, and Rosalyn Heimerle; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Newcomer - North Chapel at 10:30am. Visitation for one hour prior (9:30am-10:30am). Burial to follow at Polk Grove Cemetery, Vandalia, Ohio.
