Marylyn May Sipe, age 81, of Dayton, passed away on September 13, 2021. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on September 20, 1939, the daughter of the late Herman Trapp and Nellie Barlow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Elmer Barlow; her brother, John Trapp; and her twin infant sisters.
Marylyn is survived by her loving daughter, Heather (Chris) Bright; granddaughter, Savannah Bright; sister-in-law, Anita Trapp; nephews, Jay (Kristie), Jeff (Denise) and Jon (Annie) Trapp; and her dear great nieces, great nephew and friends.
Marylyn retired from the Dayton Police Department, where she was a Typist for 34 years. In her free time, she enjoyed watching television, clipping articles from the Dayton Daily News for her family and friends, reading the obituaries to "see if she was in them" and spending time with her family and friends. Anyone who knew her, knew what a kind and generous soul she was. She was always there for anyone, willing to always lend an ear and give the shirt off her back.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm, on Monday, September 20, 2021, which would have been Marylyn's 82nd birthday, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Kettering Cancer Center, c/o the Kettering Medical Center Foundation.
