Mary Lucille Woodum "Cille", age 77 was born on October 27, 1939 in Hysplints, Kentucky to the late Ruben Fredrick Wilson and Mossie Lee Wilson. Mary graduated High School in her hometown. She worked for Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority for 39 years. Mary accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. Her last church affiliation was the All Nation Bible Fellowship, Dayton, Ohio.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mary was Vice President of the Eastern Kentucky Social Club-Dayton Chapter and was an Eastern Star.
On Tuesday, November 22, 2016 after a short illness, Mary went to home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Annie Louise Benson and Rosa Annette Thomas; and brothers, Leroy Wilson and Jerry Wilson.
She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy; one son, Robert Thomas Ballard, Jr. (Amica); two grandchildren, Robert Thomas Ballard, III and Zaqura Isais Ballard; three great grandchildren, Aniya Smith of Rome, Georgia, Kameryla Ballard and Deante Thomas Ballard; a special longtime friend, Herman Woodum; two sisters, Charity Estella Curry (Edward), Betty Cummings (Derrick); one brother, James Reuben Wilson (Brenda); mother of her grandchild, Alison Smith (Roderick Watts); friend, Freda Taylor; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 12:30pm – 1:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road in Dayton, where services will begin at 1:30pm. Burial will be at West Memory Gardens in Moraine.
