SMITH, Mary J. age 92 passed away February 6, 2012.
The smith family lost their Matriarch as Mary Jean quietly slipped away, joining her husband of 52 years, John Smith. She was born March 24, 1919 to the late Emma Pearl and Charles Burkel Brittingham.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Hetty Brailey and brother, William Brittingham.
She is survived by her son Clifford Alan (Jeanie) Smith; grandchildren, Brian Smith, Cliff Jr. (Laura) Smith, Cindy Collins, Deanna Smith, James Dalton, and Nancy Dalton; great-grandchildren, Christy Fleenor, Nathan Smith, Ashley Payton, Walker Payton, and Natalie Dalton.
She was a secretary by trade at Wright Patterson and was a talented artist. She was a devoted member of Spinning Hills Baptist Church for over 20 years.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 5:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – North, 4104 Needmore Rd.
