Mary E. Sims, age 90, of Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023. Mary was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on November 9, 1932, the daughter of Elwood and Elma (Siewert) Carr, along with her brother Elwood Carr, who preceded her in death.
Mary was married to her loving devoted husband Robert (Bob) for 68 years until he passed in 2020. Mary and her late husband Bob loved traveling throughout the country for many years and she was especially fond of the Southwest. Mary was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. Mary was an extraordinary cook and baker. She found great joy in hosting her entire family for lavish holiday dinners and gatherings for many, many years.
Mary is survived by her three children, Steven (Nancy) Sims, Nancy (Tom) Sims-Galloway, William (Laura) Sims. Mary had seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and loved being surrounded by her entire family.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Sabina Cemetery in Sabina, Ohio at a future date.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center (ARC).
